Voxelwar release 14 - Desert Skies


Voxelwar version 14 released!

-New optional sound effects/improvements to the sound engine
-Added experimental player/object shadows
-(re)implemented object bullet impact effects
-Small fixes and improvements to the engine for match games
-Added team chat (press T)
-Implemented bounded cubes rendering for better performance on weaker computers or even just for the flair
-Added smooth terrain shading to the "maximum graphics" quick setting
-Some OpenGL-mode performance optimizations and fixes
-Added OpenGL2.1 client to Linux release
-Implemented optional compression when loading the map from the server - this will disable the map preview when loading, however

Especially notable are the ambience changes - I reworked smoke, implemented animated clouds and something like oversaturation which simulates an extremely bright sun in the desert.
